The Grey Tabbyz Gallery Show is a pretty new thing, at least here, and although I have seen similar show systems on other sites, they don't seem to be very common.
The Gallery Show basically judges both your picture and your wit - you send in a funny picture, along with a caption (see the Gallery of Amusement for examples), and the funniest ones win. If you win, you not only get a nice little award to put on your site, but also the winning entries will be featured in the Gallery, along with a link to your site.
There are, of course, rules:
- Catz Only - no dogz, no bunnyz, and no catz hexed to look like other animals, please.
- No editing the picture - No matter how skillfully you may think you edit it, I will be able to tell. The Gallery Show is for pix you actually snapped yourself.
- If your picture/caption places (excluding HM), please do not enter the same picture in another Gallery Show. - The cat(z) featured in the pic may enter a Pose or Story show, but even with a different caption, winning pictures are disqualified from entering further Gallery Showz. Also, HM-winners may enter again.
- No entering someone else's work. - The picture MUST be your own, of your own Catz. The caption should also be your own, although I'm a little more lenient about this, since my sister and friend came up with a few of the captions in the Gallery.
- Enter as many times as you like! - I really mean it. I don't get enough entries yet to put a limit on how many one person sends in!
- Please put the show number in the subject of the email. - This is a new one, but it would make my life a great deal easier if the subject of your entry mail was something like 'Gallery Show 4'.
Point System
Pose Showz award points for the winners, different number of points depending on how high you place, and since this stays regular throughout the Petz community, it works. But the Gallery Show doesn't have a similar point system, so your award will be a little different...
Best in show = Everything in 1st, except the Spotlight Site link will be 2 weeks.
1st place = Everything in 2nd, plus your site will be listed as the Spotlight Site on the Links page for 1 week.
2nd place = Everything in 3rd, plus a link to your site on the main Links page.
3rd place = Everything in HM, plus your pic/caption will be put in the Gallery, along with credit.
Honourable Mention = Graphic award.
Now, to enter the Gallery show, all you have to do is send me an email with the following information:
- Your name or handle:
- Your e-mail address:
- Your website URL:
- Your website name:
- The caption of your picture:
Don't forget to attach the picture to the e-mail! In .gif, .bmp or .jpg format ONLY please, or I won't be able to open it, and please do not embed it in the body of the e-mail; actually attach it.
Also - a new rule - please please please put 'Gallery Show 4', or 3, or 11, or whatever the show number is, in the subject of your email! It would make my life SO much easier. Thanks!
