| Backstory: | Josefina (called Josie) was the oldest child of Eva and Auguste Ortez. She lived with her parents, her younger brother Tomas, and her 'Grammy', Maria, in a shabby, small apartment in the middle of London. Eva and Auguste had both been born and raised in Spain, and moved to England when Josie was two years old. Grammy Maria died when Josie was 12. Eva and Auguste were rather poor, uneducated, but Josie worked hard at school and managed to get a part-time job when she was 15, to help the family out. When she was 16, her brother Tomas (9 at the time) murdered a little girl at his birthday party. From then on, things in the Ortez family swept downhill swiftly.
Tomas was decided to be insane, and years of trying to afford for his hospital fees followed. Josie did the best she could. She ended up becoming a policewoman, but when her father Auguste died of lung cancer, Josie had to support both her mother and Tomas. Surrenduring to the economy, she began peddling drugs as a way to earn a little extra cash. On the streets, she took the name Coyote. |
