Blood at Midnight

Written by Kalliroscope

Cold winds blow
Brush my hair back from my face
Draw tears to my eyes
I stand, alone,
Atop this mountain summit
High above the world
The frozen stone beneath my feet
Is colder than the breath of Death
And harder than the most painful memory
Like a brutal knife, the wind slices through me
Shattered glass, fragments, shards
Shredding my flesh
My blood spills, hot and sweet,
To the cold stone
Many miles down beneath me
My blood has stained the rocks dark red
A scream, torn from my throat,
Is silent to my ears
Stolen by the winds
Unheard by any save the uncaring night
Goodbye, life
Goodbye, memories
Goodbye, pain...
I leap from the rocks.
I live in one vital, electric moment
And then I am complete.
